📅 Thought for today:

‘When people cheat in any arena, they diminish themselves — they threaten their own self-esteem and their relationships with others by undermining the trust they have in their ability to succeed and in their ability to be true.’

I don’t often comment on politics…

This goes out to all those politicians (in particular) who think they are getting away “with it” or have “got away with it”.

You know what you have done or are doing.

It is slowly and corrosively eating away at you inside until it becomes public knowledge.

It affects your judgement and compromises your decision making.

And when you are in the public eye, the public stops trusting you when you demonstrate that you can’t be trusted, assuming they ever started.

I am thinking today about certain British politicians, and more importantly their partners and children.

Yet apparently it is “all OK”, it is all “in the past”.

It isn’t in the past unless there is a tangible self-reckoning and change in behaviour.

We seem to have a Government where anything goes for the ministers and yet the public are to be banned from protesting “for the safety of all”.

Bullying, lying, cheating, and deceiving – if you met someone who openly professed to these behaviours, would you welcome them into your arms as a friend?

Would you let them run a country?
