`📅 Thought for today:
‘Baking is about multi-tasking. If you are organized and prepared, that’s half the battle.’

Yesterday was a baking and cooking day.
When I draw up my lists of nourishing and depleting activities (wiu=th a side order of mastery), baking will be at the top.
Nourishment for the body, the mind and the soul.
I immerse myself in baking and love the challenge of baking something. It doesn’t have to be technically complex.
I love learning new techniques.
Baking bread is mostly the same set of ingredients – flour, water, salt and yeast.
You might add to that to change the nature of the bread – enrich it with milk, eggs, sugar for instance. Or flavour it, change the texture, or incorporate other things such as seeds and nuts.
For me baking is a mindful activity – I am immersed to the point of ignoring distractions.
Yesterday I made Japanese Milk Bread and made roasted vegetable soup to use up the last remains of a super-seedy wholewheat sourdough.
It was a wonderful day.
