In amongst the client sessions, running training sessions for three companies, and doing the admin-y things you do when you run your own business, I have been researching and interviewing entrepreneurs.

I’m doing this for a book project, which I will describe another time.

I am researching the highs and lows of entrepreneurship, and to do that I needed to brief the entrepreneurs I interviewed.

I also invested in a digital voice recorder, so that I didn’t need to use my phone (which works fine but doesn’t like being used for anything else when recording!).

Coming up with the brief and mapping out the structure of the book is fun, but my real interest is in the interviews.

I find other people’s lives endlessly fascinating, and giving them the space to explore their own journeys, and describe them in their own words is a real joy for me.

I continue next week with more interviews and more research, and it is a good activity to interleave with “day-to-day operations”.
